source (from the first watch cook book)

it’s been forever since i’ve gone to first watch for brunch, but after sm and i went while she was in town for the week and ordered this off the menu. we were determined to find the recipe and make it at home. well, we didn’t have to look very far because as we were waiting at the front to pay for our meal, sm picked up the cookbook and was flipping through and we happened to find the recipe in there. we snapped a picture (while the cashier was giving us the side-eye) and that ended the long search for the recipe !

i picked up all the ingredients and couldn’t wait to make the recipe and enjoy this refreshing drink at home anytime i wanted. i found turmeric and ginger juice as a combined shot at whole foods. the beet juice, i also found at whole foods. all the other ingredients, i happened to already have them at home.

well, it didn’t disappoint ! i’ve made it several times since finding the recipe. i mix the orange juice and other ingredients sans beet juice and put it in a plastic tupperware. then whenever i want a glass, i’ll fill a cup with ice, pour the oj mix, and then add the beet juice. a very refreshing drink as well as healthy for you with the ginger and turmeric.

it’s also a very pretty drink since the oj is denser than the beet juice, the redness sits at the top of the glass =]
